Web development languages
Written by Sukarna

Web development languages is undoubtedly a very interesting subject.  A web developer should know the core aspect of the website. This field is broad but when this wide topic is broken down into small segments, that can be understood easily by everyone.

We categorize web development into three different categories,

  1. Client-side web development or front end
  2. Server-side web development or backend
  3. Full-stack web development

Here we are talking about web development languages that will help current web developers to find out the programming landscape to provide web-based services with assured security and stability.

Web developers should learn the following web development languages

From past decades different kinds of applications have been launched for our personal convenience. That may be a cloud-based or web-based application, works uniformly in all kinds of devices. In the present era, we can store information on the cloud which is accessible from web applications anytime anywhere. If you are from the IT and software domain, then you know the importance of web development languages. Developers learn programming languages before grasping into the web development field. This is the basic pillar of web development skill.

The basic concept of basic languages

. When students start to learn about web development, they are suggested, to begin with, HTML (Hypertext Markup Language) and CSS (Cascading Style Sheets), but make confusion with programming languages. Basically, HTML and CSS are markup languages, that has been used to generate electronic documents or pages and create design simultaneously.

Web development languages are categorized into two different sections, i.e, Back-end, and front-end web development languages. Generally, a web development project includes Server-side or back-end coding, Client-side or front-end coding, and database technology.

For example, LinkedIn is the world’s largest professional network to connect with each other. It is used to search for a job or communicate with peer professionals. The LinkedIn platform is programmed with three distinct web programming languages; they are such as Java, JavaScript, and Scala. Also used Voldemort as a distributed database to store a large number of working profiles.  Web development languages also defined as Complex logical instructions and processes to create sites that fulfill certain requirements on demand.

In the next part we will discuss back-end and front-end web development languages in detail, and explain how different they are from each other.

Web development languages for front-end

There are mainly three web development languages for the front-end segment. They are such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript.

This is the basic coding language that generates and organizes web page content so that it can be shown by the browser.

CSS is the web page language that is used along with HTML. This markup language defines the style of web-page content including layout, fonts, and colors.

JavaScript is a programming language used to craft most interactive elements like modal windows, drop-down menus, and contact forms.

Apart from these three basic front-end languages, you will come across web development frameworks like Angular and Bootstrap, CSS extension like Sass and LESS, JavaScript libraries (JQuery). The main intention behind the advanced web development framework is to make code that is easy to manage and highly organized.

Web development languages for back-end

If you build a website, that requires a database to handle the overall product and customer information. A database store webpage content in such a way that makes it easy to retrieve, edit, organize, and save the data. The database runs on a server.  Commonly used servers include MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server, PostgresSQL.

There are some common backend languages like PHP, .Net, Python, Java, Ruby. These backend programming languages run on the frameworks, which helps to simplify the entire web development procedure.

When backend and frontend programming working together properly, the audience can see your website, and search for the particular product they want to buy. When the searchable element is typed into the front-end, the web application checks all product data stored in the back-end or database and brings forth the appropriate information about a searchable element in the form of front-end code. Finally, that has been displayed as the user’s requested list.
